Show me the money!
We’re providing a healthy and very low budget meal planner for an average UK family. It costs less than 90p per person per day. We’ve assumed you’d shop at one UK supermarket, (ASDA) for ease. They were the cheapest shop for the ingredients we picked. Lidl and Aldi are great at what they do, but if I’m looking for something just used as an ingredient, uncooked lentils for instance, they’re often not in those shops
The prices were all calculated in September 2010, and recalculated for this relaunch in November 2019. I am delighted that Option 1 is still pricing up at £107, not at all bad after nearly a decade. Option 2 is on its way back, but there’s a lot of work to be done before that is available. The recipes are all broadly there, but I need to cost check the months groceries, and each recipe too. As a particular recipe is completed, it will be loaded, so you’ll gradually see more recipes on the Search pages.
The Celebration plan is not too far off, lots of recipes are already available from that plan
86p a day may not sound like a huge reduction to your spending, so to motivate you, let’s look at it in a different way.
For the average family of 4 in the UK, these meal plans would save you over £4000 a year!
Just think what you could do with all that cash…
Each person in a whole year is only spending £314 on all their food and drink. And it’s darn tasty.
